Program Structure
Period 1 – 3 months: Training at One World Center
Period 2 – 6 months: Project work in St Vincent and the Grenadines
Period 3 – 1 month: Conclusion and information period at One World Center

Certification
1. Certification of Completion from One World Center.
2. Certification of Completion of Service Period from Richmond Vale Academy.

Start Dates
The team starts April and October.

Period One. Three months

Training at One World Center
Period One is based at One World Center. Studies will include global affairs,
political science, international and economic development. Methods will include group and individual
studies, lectures, investigations and discussions within a team.
You will also take part in projects and receive leadership and practical training to develop a variety
of skills directly needed during the subsequent project period in a village in St. Vincent.
The school is run by staff and students together, and all daily chores are organized within and by
this group. The focus of the training period is to provide the framework that will give you the
understanding, knowledge and variety of skills, including team building, practical and leadership skills,
to make the project period a success for both you and the beneficiaries at the project.
These skills will also be useful in your future life and career.

Period Two

Project Work in St Vincent
Your team will be posted in a village in St Vincent. Projects focus on creating change in farming,
education and health. The projects work together with children, parents, farmers, teachers and local
leaders. You will do your part to tackle the root causes of poverty and help build sustainable and
thriving communities.
Prior to leaving for your destination, you will have meetings to discuss and determine the specific jobs
and responsibilities for your posting, depending on the specific needs of the area.
This will act as the guidelines for the coming six months as you begin your work together with the
community. There will be a variety of tasks, from engaging with local farmers to increasing food
production, supporting income-generating activities, working together with teachers,
or promoting and constructing home gardens together with a local community – and much more.
You will get close to your partners in action and gather experiences you will never forget. You will
also change as a person.

Period Three

Conclusion and information period at One World Center
Following your six-months posting, you return to One World Center to digest your
experiences. This final stage of the program enables you to share your findings and evaluate the
effectiveness and impact of the work in the field. This allows for continual improvement of the
program, whilst ensuring you gain extensive and valuable understanding derived from the program.
You finalize the products and get ready to spread information to target groups of your choice and
«hit them in the heart», thereby supporting and encouraging greater sustainable development
efforts. During this phase, you will acquire additional skills and understanding that help you
prepare for the next steps in your career and life.
