When you have a short time, and you want to gain the experience of the excellent trekking route, Ghorepani Poonhill Trek could be the best option for you. Ghorepani Poon Hill trek is one of the most popular trekking trails in the Annapurna region, as this trekking takes you to the Ghorepani Poonhill gives magnificent views of the Himalayas lying in the Annapurna area and beautiful Gurung and Magar ethnic groups village and Rhododendron forests and unbelievable snow-capped mountain views.

Day 01: Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu (1300m).

Day 02: Drive to Pokhara (850 m).

Day 03: Drive to Nayapul and trek to Ulleri (1980 m) 3-4 hrs.

Day 04: Ulleri (1980 m) to Ghorepani (2800m) 6-7 hrs.

Day 05: Ghorepani to Poon Hill (3210m) to Tadapani (2540m), 6-7 hrs.

Day 06: Tadapani (2540m) to Ghandruk (1940 m), 4-5 hrs.

Day 07: Ghandruk (1940 m) to Nayapul (1070 m) & drive to Pokhara, 4-5 hrs.

Day 08: Pokhara to Kathmandu flight 30 min.

  • Day 1 - Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu (1300m).

    Namaste & welcome to Mountain Guide Trek of Nepal. Upon your arrival, you will be greeted by a representative from Mountain guide Trek. After completing your custom formalities (Visa, Passport, etc) pick up your luggage and look for our representative with a Mountain Guide Treks and Expedition with the Group leader's name on the display board at the arrival gate. You will be then transferred to the Hotel. After check-in, if time allows, you will visit the MGT office to meet your trekking leader as well as other participants and for final preparation for the trip. It all depends upon your arrival time. (Overnight at deluxe hotel on BB basis)

  • Day 2 - Drive to Pokhara (850 m).

  • Day 3 - Drive to Nayapul and trek to Ulleri (1980 m) 3-4 hrs.

    On our 4th day of the Ghorepani Poonhill trek, we start our day with breakfast. After having breakfast in Pokhara, at 7:30 am, we start our drive to Nayapul, from where real trekking starts. It takes around 1.5 hours to reach Nayapul by Private Vehicle. Then trails lead up through the beautiful rice, maize, and millet farms of locals. Following the main trail of Birethanti passed a small waterfall. The trail reaches Sudami where you have Lunch. After lunch climb steadily side of the valley, you reach at Hile and after half an hour you reach at Tikhedhunga for an overnight stay or you will walk further until Ulleri for that you need to climbs 3000 stones steps from Tikadhunga. (Overnight at tea house on full board basis)

  • Day 4 - Ulleri to Ghorepani (2800m) 4-5 hrs.

    In the morning breakfast will be served at the hotel at 7:00 am to be prepared for Ulleri (2070m) climb. The trail goes steep up for 1.5 hours through stone steps where the trail leads through cultivated fields Rest of the trails go through the inside blooming rhododendron and Oak forest after that trek to Nangethanti which will be your lunch spot in Nangethanti. That is a Nepali word meaning "rest house" and "Dharmasala". In the winter the trail can be covered with snow. After lunch trek rests for about an hour. Then climb to Ghorepani at 2850m. (Overnight at tea house on full board basis)

  • Day 5 - Ghorepani to Poon hill to Tadapani (2540 m) 6-7 hrs.

You then come down to Ghorepani to have breakfast and trek to Tadapani for 6 hours. Trek leads mainly up and downhill through the forest. (Overnight at tea house on full board basis)

  • Day 6 - Tadapani to Ghandruk (1940 m) 5-6 hrs.

    After breakfast, your journey leads to Ghandruk. The most ethnic culture is in Gurung people which are very famous in Ghandruk village. The trail is mainly through the forest and goes gentle down Evening explore the Gurung museum to know about their traditional clothes and useful equipment. (Overnight at tea house on full board basis)

  • Day 7 - Ghandruk to Pokhara, 5-6 hrs.

    Treks down to Nayapul through the cultivated fields in Modi Khola valley and drive to Pokhara (1 hrs). End of the trek. (Overnight at deluxe hotel on full board basis)

  • Day 8 - Pokhara to Kathmandu fly 25 min.

    It will be an afternoon flight to Kathmandu, till some hours before the flight; you may take an optional sightseeing tour in and around Pokhara or enjoy adventure activities such as boat riding, paragliding, etc. While returning to Kathmandu from Pokhara, be sure to catch the left side of the airplane for the best views of the Himalayas. Around 2:00 pm you will arrive at Kathmandu (beside Thamel) and transfer to your hotel. The day at leisure to rest, perhaps catch up on some last-minute shopping or explore any sights you missed during your first day in Kathmandu! Remember, we will be hosting a fantastic celebration "Farewell dinner" at a traditional Nepalese restaurant together with Mountain Guide Trek staff for the successful completion of the Ghorepani (Poon Hill) Trek!   • Guest house accommodation according to given itinerary (sharing in 2 bed-room) and 3 meals (Breakfast, lunch, Dinner) during the trek

  • An experienced English-speaking trek leader (trekking guide), assistant trek leader (4 trekkers: 1 assistant guide) and Sherpa porters to carry luggage (2 trekkers: 1 porter) including their salary, insurance, equipment, flight, food and lodging.
  • Down jacket, for seasonal sleeping bag, Mountain Guide treks & Expedition kit bag/duffel bag, trekking map (down jacket and sleeping bag are to be returned after trip completion)
  • A comprehensive medical kit.
  • Nepal entree visa: you can get a visa easily upon your arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu (a multiple-entry tourist visa good for 30 days can be obtained by Paying US $ 40 or equivalent foreign currency. Similarly, multiple-entry tourist visas for 90 days can be obtained by paying US $100. Please bring 2 copies of passport-size photos.)

  • Lunch and dinner in Kathmandu or Pokhara (and also in the case of early return from the mountain than the scheduled itinerary)
  • Extra night accommodation in Kathmandu and Pokhara because of early arrival, late departure, and early return from the mountain(due to any reason) than the scheduled itinerary

Important Information

The Ghorepani trek is one of the most accessible trekking trails. The trekking to this area takes you to the west of the Pokhara and gives the magnificent views of the Himalayas lying in the Annapurna area. One of the attractions in this trekking is that you will have a chance to have a trip to Poon hill, from where we can see a fantastic scene of sunrise and you, also can cherish an incredible panoramic view of the Mt.
