Coach Volunteer Program in Rwanda

As an emerging non-profit, our programs each target different focus areas. The unifying purpose of this outreach is to encourage the growth of sports (track and field) participation in Rwanda as a way to cultivate personal, community, national, and international development objectives. The word Impano in Kinyarwanda (Rwandans native tongue) means a gift and we want to nurture and develop the natural abilities of the Rwandan children who are a gift to their community, nation and our world. Impano day camps are designed to include and motivate all children of underserved communities. By increasing the presence of the sport of track and field, and inspire future generations to appreciate a new sport. The Impano Girls Sports initiative works to empower girls and encourage active participation in sports. We believe sports can be used as a tool for social change in underserved communities in Rwanda by providing girls the skills and confidence needed to break down barriers and achieve their goals.

Impano Sports partners with Sports and Education development initiative in Rwanda to give you a life changing experience. The SEDI-RWANDA (Sports and education Development Initiative-Rwanda) is a non-governmental organization whose mission is to engage, educate and empower young people for their welfare through sports and entertainment programs. Given the need to strengthen the promotion of sports as a contributor to help the youth be the solvers of their own problems programs such as this have a valuable impact.

By taking action along with Impano Sports and SEDI, you will experience an African culture first hand as you become a member of the community. You will be giving back to the children by helping to administer events and programs in the surrounding villages of Kigali, Rwanda. You will have a huge role in organizing sports camps, clinics, community outreach projects, coaching, the evaluation and identification of young athletes, visits to schools for the promotion of the Impano mission, which is to encourage participation in sports.
