概述

The Social Entrepreneurship Think Tank (SETT) is a pioneer summer program with the mission of developing next-generation global leaders and social entrepreneurs. We provide a hands-on learning opportunity through immersive cultural exchange and innovative workshops. SETT is a strategic partnership between Pangaea Abroad and Global Education Partnership (GEP).

SETT will be offered to self-motivated high school and college students like you around the world to travel to Beijing, China’s capital, and Yunnan, to immerse in its rich culture, to understand its rapid growth and future implications, and to build authentic connections with locals. You will be engaged in teaching English to underprivileged children, meeting with social entrepreneurs and global citizens making a sustainable impact, and pitching your social enterprise business plans. With SETT, you will also find yourself climbing the Great Wall that once protected China from foreign invasions, meandering around the ancient streets of China while tasting a wide variety of regional cuisine, and sowing seeds for lifelong friendships with Chinese peers.

The SETT program is divided into three segments to help you to get the most out of your experience in China. The pre-trip and post-trip work is designed through a series of online training with Pangaea Abroad's proven Global Citizenship Curriculum, which will prepare you to develop the foundational knowledge for social entrepreneurship. An immersive social entrepreneurship training program that contains English teaching and cultural exchange, versatile activities such as team sports, music performance, and outdoor excursions, and finally, innovative workshops that will connect you to successful social entrepreneurs and global citizens. You will take your learnings and generate solutions to social needs you identify during the volunteer fieldwork. SETT will help you develop your innovative ideas into a social business plan, which you'll have the opportunity to pitch to business executives.
