Overview

The best way to get to know a foreign country, its language, its people, its culture and, above all, the problems that each country struggles with, is to live there for a while and become part of society. By participating in one of our meaningful volunteer projects in Chile, you can be sure that you know Chile well off the beaten tourist track and will certainly love it.

Our volunteer projects in Chile take place in collaboration with social institutions and non-profit organizations throughout the country. In most cases, you work directly with the target audience and take on tasks such as looking after and caring for disadvanteged children, the disabled or the elderly, the homeless, or you get involved in environmental protection or animal welfare.

In Chile, the prosperity is unfortunately very unevenly distributed. Many children and adolescents grow up in very difficult circumstances. Public and private institutions, such as children's homes, day care centers or social kindergartens, try to counteract and do incredibly valuable work. These institutions care for disadvantaged children, providing them a safe place where they can overcome traumas, develop, play and learn. Unfortunately, many of these institutions in Chile lack financial resources and staff. Therefore, they are always happy to have volunteers to provide the children with a more comprehensive care and support.

Volunteering in a children's project in Chile is a meaningful opportunity for those who are fond of children and want to give back to society. Volunteering in Chile is your chance to invest your time in low-social-class children, while broadening your horizon and growing personally.

Many of the children cared for in our projects grow up in sad and adverse conditions. Responsible work with these children is therefore incredibly important so that they do not feel neglected or even undergo new traumas again, because these experiences from (early) childhood can negatively affect their whole lives. You should be aware of the great responsibility involved when working abroad with children. On the other hand, these projects are just incredibly enriching and may also have a lasting impact on your life.
