Overview

Raising awareness of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Belize is a priority for Cornerstone Foundation. Youth and those living in poverty are most at risk for contracting the disease. Though cultural stigmas about HIV/AIDS persist, open discussions are critical in fighting the spread of the disease. We use community outreach initiatives and partnerships with local and national programs to educate the public about prevention and disease management.

Participants promote HIV/AIDS initiatives in the community, assist with existing HIV/AIDS education projects and observe cultural perspectives affecting HIV/AIDS education. Projects include developing performances, collateral and/or visual/audio presentations that contribute to community awareness.

Cornerstone Foundation programs would not be successful without the work of committed and enthusiastic volunteers. The flexibility of our programs offers individuals and groups the opportunity to build onto existing projects or initiate new activities. Join us to experience the joy of helping children and adults in our community, and truly discover what you can achieve.
